Attwaters Jameson Hill started life in 1901 as Attwater & Liell with a single premises in London. As the practice grew, new offices in Harlow and Loughton opened in the 1930s and 1950s, respectively. In 2012, Attwater & Liell merged with respected Hertfordshire practice Jameson & Hill, whose Hertford and Ware offices opened for business in 1982. The new business boasted 14 partners, 85 staff and a combined 140 years of legal practice.
Under the new name of Attwaters Jameson Hill, our firm has continued to expand and grow in both skill and ambition over the years. In 2019, Attwaters Jameson Hill merged with respected London practice Stafford Young Jones, bringing even more highly qualified solicitors onto the team and providing clients with access to SJY’s City office.

Attwaters Jameson Hill has a long tradition of community involvement; we believe that as a successful business it is our responsibility to give back and help those around us. Our work for the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), involvement in work apprentice schemes and our charitable activities are all examples of how we look beyond profits to bring real benefits to the local communities we have proudly served for so many decades.
Each year, we select a deserving charity to focus our fundraising efforts. This year, we are supporting Evelina London House, a wonderful initiative that provides accommodation and emotional support to families with children undergoing inpatient treatment at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
As well as being kind to those around us, we also believe in providing a caring and supportive work environment to our staff, and giving our employees the space and time they need to develop professionally.
