Attwaters Jameson Hill shines in latest Legal 500 results

On behalf of Attwaters Jameson Hill posted on Thursday, September 29th, 2022

We are delighted to announce that Attwaters Jameson Hill has once again been praised in this year’s Legal 500 results, with many of our leading lawyers singled out for their excellent work. The Legal 500 is the world’s leading legal directory, each year ranking thousands of law firms across the world according to criteria such as technical expertise, their reputation for handling complex or innovative cases, their commitment to using technology to improve client services, and many more.

In the 2023 results, seven of our practice areas and 13 of our lawyers were named and praised by the directory – a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the entire team here at Attwaters Jameson Hill to legal excellence and service quality.

The results

Our “friendly and approachable” Planning Law team retained their prestigious Tier 2 ranking, with Practice Head Salvatore Amico named as a Next Generation Partner – a title bestowed upon those lawyers who the directory believes will go on to be one of the next generation’s standouts. He was described by clients as a very “knowledgeable, always friendly and helpful” solicitor who “works especially hard for the client to find solutions to their problems.”

The Commercial Property department at Attwaters Jameson Hill offers a “personable service” and “invaluable advice”, according to a client testimonial collected by the directory. Another client was full of praise for Nicholas Evans, saying that he “has provided many years of beneficial advice and support to our business.”

Always a popular department with the Legal 500, our Wills, Trusts & Probate department is “particularly strong at working with vulnerable clients on deputyships and personal injury trusts.” “Approachable” Lesley-Ann Mayhew was once again named a Leading Individual by the directory – a title denoting lawyers who are at the very top of their respective fields – while Practice Head and Senior Partner Andrew Flanagan was commended for his leadership of “a strong, able team” whose “attention to detail on each area makes them stand out.”

Lesley-Ann was also named a Leading Individual for her Court of Protection work, where she was described as “tenacious and empathetic to her clients and leaves no stone unturned in order to secure the right results for her clients.” Another client said simply that she is “always a pleasure to work with.”

Our Family Law team “stands out for twinning empathy with a proactive approach”, with Consultant Joyti Henchie praised as a “standout solicitor” and “by far the best lawyer of her generation that I have encountered” in the results. Practice Head Belinda Strange leads a “good, solid and diverse team” that “goes above and beyond for their clients.”

Our “very dedicated” Medical Negligence team, led by Joanne Westbrook, was praised by one client as “very understanding, sympathetic to your loss and always happy to talk things through.” Another interviewee said: “The level of care and professionalism that is provided to clients […] always seems to be of the highest level.” Penny Fitzpatrick, Associate Solicitor in the team, was lauded for being “very thorough, sympathetic to your case, [and] doesn’t promise unrealistic goals.”

Last, but by no means least, the “hands on team” in our Commercial Litigation department offer “a thorough approach to the legal issues, leaving no stone unturned,” according to the directory. Practice Head Leanne Philp received a mention, as did Associate Solicitor Prabhi Ghura, who was praised for her “very detailed approach to all aspects of the client’s case.”

The reaction

Sheri-Anne Mizon, Managing Partner at Attwaters Jameson Hill, was very pleased with this year’s results. She said:

“It is so heart warming to read the comments of previous clients and to know that we have made such an impression on their lives. People typically seek legal services at a stressful time in their lives, whether they are separating from a partner, purchasing a property or grieving the loss of a loved one. At such times, it is vital that we approach their case with care, compassion and, of course, the highest standards of professionalism to ensure that we do our bit to alleviate their burden.”

She continued: “Every year, these results spur us on to work harder, to innovate more, and to expand our knowledge and expertise so that we can continually improve on the experience that we provide to our clients. Seeing that another hard year’s work has paid off in these results is such a motivator to continue giving it our all.”
