My Professional Background
I joined Attwaters Jameson Hill in 2000, as their first Nurse Advisor. Being a completely new position, it has developed to be an integral part of the Clinical Negligence team.
Immediately after leaving school, at 18, I embarked on my Registered Nurse training. In 1981, I completed my midwifery training. Having worked in a number of different disciplines within the hospital environment, I decided to train as a Public Health / School Nurse, in the community. I then went on to become a college lecturer.
The experience I gained from working across so many areas of nursing has been a valuable resource to draw from, when dealing with the variety and complexity of cases that we are presented with. Wanting to understand more about the Law, I completed my Level 3 Professional Diploma, in 2003.
Achievements / Accreditations
- Professional Membership of the Nursing and Midwifery Counsel
I love cheese and biscuits, accompanied by a cup of tea or a glass of wine. I enjoy walking, reading and travel and have a fear of small creatures, such as spiders or mice. My dream job would be a travel reporter for the BBC and I would take Charles Dickens as my desert island companion, if that were possible.
