My Professional Background
From school I always wanted to be a solicitor. With a single mindedness that has never left me I qualified with an expedited training contract, using the time spent working alongside studying. Since I qualified in 2002 I have worked both in private practice and in house, for firms both very large and quite small, across the City and the West End. After roaming for 10 years I returned full circle to where I had trained at Stafford Young Jones, who merged into this firm in 2019.
My experience is broad covering the whole spectrum of commercial conveyancing transactions, from buying, selling and letting to licences, agreements and resolving complex title issues. In recent years I have also expanded my horizons into property litigation, including possession claims, boundary disputes, issues over poor management and disputed service charges. My litigation perspective has undoubtedly made me a better draftsman by seeing just where bad drafting ends up.
I am married with two school age girls, and we live less than a mile from where my husband and I grew up in Eltham SE9. We are blessed also to have both of our families a stone’s throw away, which benefits us with a whole host of grandparents, aunties and uncles for baby sitting duty and lots of cousins for our children to play with.
Our favourite day out is at a theme park and we travel far and wide to experience new rides, both in the UK and abroad. So far nothing beats Disneyworld Florida, which remains my number one. When I do manage an evening out with my girl friends I am very happy just to relax and chat over a case of chilled prosecco.
