Chambers and Partners Leading UK Lawyers

On behalf of Attwaters Jameson Hill posted on Friday, October 11th, 2019

We are very pleased to announce that we have received another set of excellent rankings in the 2020 edition of the Chambers and Partners Guide to leading UK lawyers.

We were commended for our work in three practice areas, with our Medical Negligence and Family Law departments achieving prestigious Band 1 status (the highest it is possible to achieve within the Guide). Additionally, six of our lawyers were specifically named for their hard work and expertise in their field. Chambers and Partners has been the leading source of legal market intelligence for over 30 years, using highly experienced researchers to analyse and rank UK law firms according to their technical legal expertise and quality of client care, among other benchmarks.

Our Family Law department, which was ranked as Band 1 for the second time running, was lauded as “down-to-earth and the type of firm you would recommend because their advice is robust and realistic.Joyti Henchie, Partner and Head of Department, was once again awarded Band 1 practitioner status this year and was described as being “an incredibly down-to-earth solicitor who gives her clients the best service they could ask for.” Clients also said she was “vastly experienced so there’s very little that fazes her.”

Our Medical Negligence department also achieved Band 1 status, with two of the team’s practitioners named ‘Associates to Watch’, a title which designates lawyers who are at the forefront of their generation. Sources highlighted the team’s “personal approach that claimants in difficult circumstances appreciate”, while another client pointed to their “highly professional and caring” approach. Craig Knightley, a Solicitor in the department, was singled out by one of our delighted clients, who said: “We can’t speak highly enough. Without him and all his hard work and dedication we would not have had the outcome we had. He gave us a voice and it was heard.” James Sherwin, the second ‘Associate to Watch’ in our Medical Negligence team, was described as “a real fighter for his clients and a calm head in any circumstance” as well as “a lawyer you want in your corner.

Also recognised for its excellence was our Town and Country Planning department, headed up by Salvatore Amico, who was recently made a Partner at Attwaters Jameson Hill and was recommended as a Recognised Practitioner in this year’s rankings. Rob Jameson, a highly experienced Consultant in our Planning department, was recognised as a Senior Statesperson in the Guide (a title denoting a highly experienced lawyer who continues to play a pivotal role in the firm’s success). Of Rob, one of our clients said that he is “extremely knowledgeable in his field and provides excellent advice and support”, while another noted that “His strengths include the ability to cut through extraneous issues and get to the heart of the matter.”

Commenting on this year’s results, our Managing Partner, Andrew Flannagan, said: “This year’s rankings reflect the hard work and dedication that our lawyers put in to delivering excellent outcomes day in, day out. We always aim to go above and beyond for every single one of our clients, so it has been incredibly rewarding to hear these wonderful comments and testimonials in this year’s Guide. Of course, we won’t be resting on our laurels; we’re constantly thinking about how we can improve and broaden our services to make our clients’ experience even better in the future.”
