Position  1: Commercial Property Solicitor          Department: Commercial

Senior solicitor with connections/following

The role would  involve dealing with a full range commercial property work  from landlord and tenant matters, commercial  property acquisitions and sales, property support on Company Commercial matters, development work from site acquisitions  through conditional contracts options and overage through finance and preparation for disposition,   also finance related work for lenders and borrowers This role would also involve supporting other members of the property team to reach their full potential and assisting the partners in the Commercial department in implementing the firms policies within the department       There is genuine opportunity for career progression with this role

Candidates should be / have:

  • Organised, technically able and commercially minded
  • A problem solver comfortable with communicating complex issues and potential solutions both to experienced commercial clients and professionals and to the private client selling part of their garden for development
  • Willing to actively promote and develop themselves, the team and the firm
  • Good computer skills, ability to be self sufficient
  • Excellent client care skills
  • Willingness to assist and support others in the property team and to lead by example

Position  2: Commercial Property Solicitor       Department: Commercial

An ambitious Commercial Property Solicitor (or equivalent) NQ with good previous experience to 2yrs plus PQE.

Position 3 and 4  :  Solicitor/FILEX       Department: Family

Location: Hertford based with travel to our other offices

We currently have 2 exciting opportunities for outgoing, ambitious  Family Solicitors to join our team.

Will be expected to deal with all aspects of family law, including drafting pre–nuptial agreements, to children matters, Family Law Act applications as well as divorce and financial arrangements. To run own case load and support other fee earners from time to time.

Will also be required to attend online and in person networking events and business development activities generally.

Education & Professional Qualifications required:

  • LLB Hons / First Degree 2:1 or above
  • CPE conversion Commendation or Distinction if non-law degree
  • Legal Practice Course Commendation or Distinction

Professional Experience required (i.e. years PQE):

  • 2 years + PQE for the Junior Solicitor, 5 years + PQE for the more experienced Solicitor
  • Resolution accreditation preferable but not essential in Children and / or Financial Remedies
  • TOLTA Experience
  • Family Law Act Experience

Personal Skills (e.g. Computer literate):

  • Proficiency in Word/Excel/Teams and data base management
  • Familiarity with legal software packages – Liberate preferably
  • Able to work independently or with minimal supervision and run own case load
  • Social media skills for marketing purposes, blogging, Twitter, Linked In etc.
  • Adaptable and able to work with the team an undertake a variety of tasks
  • Willingness to take on admin duties as may be required from time to time
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

Personal Circumstances, Client Following, Car owner etc:

  • Car owner preferable and willing to commute between offices
  • Client base or good network of potential referrers
  • Willing to work from all offices including our City Office
  • Confident and sociable personality

Position no. 5:  Office Assistant / Paralegal            Department: General Admin/Litigation Departments

Location: Harlow primarily, but required to travel to and work from our other offices from time to time                                                            

Date Required: Immediately

Education & Professional Qualifications required:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A – C
  • A levels preferred
  • Degree advantageous
  • Legal Qualifications would also be advantageous

Professional Experience required (i.e., years PQE):

  • Administration / Office experience required.
  • Previous experience as a Paralegal preferred

Personal Skills (e.g., Computer literate):

  • Computer literate
  • Polite telephone manner
  • Good typing skills
  • Customer Service skills

Personal Qualities:

  • A genuine interest in Law
  • Friendly and helpful team player
  • Well organised with ability to prioritise workload
  • A good level of spoken and written communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately with a good attention to detail
  • Able to use all Microsoft Office packages and sufficient typing skills
  • Car owner / driver preferred

  • Reception duties when required
  • General Administrative Support to the Litigation Departments
  • Photocopying, filing, archiving
  • File opening, assisting with bundle preparation
  • Meeting and greeting clients
  • Scheduling appointments, diary management
  • Assisting with New Enquiries
  • Assisting Fee Earners with their cases as and when needed
