My Professional Background

I work within the Personal Injury department; my passion is to listen to our new clients and give initial advice on whether a claim can be pursued. I advise on the information needed and help our clients through the initial process. It’s key that we offer as personal a service as possible. Having an accident can be very upsetting and I believe what a client needs more than anything is someone to listen with care and sympathy, before suggesting the right path for their needs.

I joined Attwater & Liell (as was) in 1989 as a secretary in the Conveyancing department, before gaining further experience in both the Matrimonial and Medical Negligence departments. My most important move was to the Personal Injury department, where I supported solicitors acting on behalf of people injured in accidents. This is where I found that my listening skills and empathy meant that clients felt comfortable talking to me. I was delighted to use this to good effect, by developing and leading the New Enquiries team.

I am very proud of being with the firm for a quarter of a century! I was too short to join the Police force, so I decided another area of law was the only option. Working in several departments has given me experience and life skills over the years.

About me

I. have two grown up children who are both currently at university, my son is studying Robotics and my daughter, Criminology.  We have two cockapoos who keep me and my husband very busy. We love taking the dogs to the Country for holidays. I am also involved with Harlow Steel Band, they are an amazing and talented bunch of youngsters, who play such uplifting music. They have inspired me to start learning myself, which I now do with a wonderful group of ladies. I don’t think they would mind me saying, we are not the best but it makes us very happy.

In my spare time, I love to read books and have been known to upcycle furniture when I can’t find what I want in the shops.   I also love Tom Jones and am well known for my renditions of Dililah… much to my daughter’s embarrassment!

My favourite food is pie & mash and a good home made roast.  If I could choose one person to take with me to a desert island, I would pick Johnny Depp, as Captain Jack Sparrow. He has a stash of rum and has escaped a desert island before – plus looks so good in eyeliner!
